Meet Kingsley Awah, a resilient refugee who tends the bar by night and delves into coding during his free time in the heart of Warsaw. But this narrative isn’t just about coding; it’s a tale of resilience, passion, and the transformative power of mentorship. Kingsley’s journey to tech began with a yearning for a career shift, a path more aligned with his passion.

Enter CodeYourPath – an initiative that turns dreams into reality. A bartender turned coder? Now, that’s a plot twist! Six months ago, Kingsley, once a coding novice, joined the mentorship program. With the guidance of mentor Hammad Shafiq, each coding session became a stepping stone. Kingsley, once without any coding chops, is now crafting a personal portfolio website as a Frontend Developer.

“Before CodeYourPath, I had no coding knowledge; now, I have reasonable skills. Hope? It’s my driving force,”

says Kingsley.

Dreaming of a Frontend Developer gig, Kingsley’s story is more than lines of code. It’s a symphony of music, love for football, and finding peace in Poland’s streets. Relatable, isn’t it? We’ve all craved change.

Kingsley’s journey to tech is a testament to the power of passion and mentorship. It screams, “Passion + Mentorship = Transformation.” You don’t need a tech degree to pivot. Feeling stuck? Seek your CodeYourPath.

Kingsley is one of our mentees who successfully completed the Mentorship program in CodeYourPath. Now, he’s dreaming of finding his first job.
